Stove & Range Repair — Book a Visit Today

Stoves quit in ordinary ways. A surface burner clicks and clicks but never lights. One oven element glows, the other stays dark. The touch panel goes half-blind. On Long Island, salt air chews at burner caps and igniter terminals, and hard water leaves scale under spill-prone drip pans, so corrosion shows up sooner here than the manuals suggest. A visit starts with your description, then we test igniters, valves, elements, sensors, and control boards to find the part that actually failed instead of guessing. We work on gas, electric, and dual-fuel ranges from all major brands as an independent shop. Evening windows exist for commuters. Call us and tell us what the stove does, and when.

Stove & Range Repair — residential stove & range being serviced

The stove & range symptoms we hear most

  • "It clicks forever before it lights" Weak spark igniter, cracked ceramic, or moisture and salt residue in the burner head
  • "Oven runs way hotter than the dial says" Drifting temperature sensor, miscalibrated control, or a stuck gas valve
  • "Gas smell near the range" Loose supply fitting or failing valve seal — shut the gas off and call before troubleshooting
  • "Front burner only works on high" Burnt infinite switch or a damaged surface element terminal
  • "Buttons do nothing, display shows a code" Failed membrane keypad, control board fault, or a tripped thermal limit

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1 Confirm the breaker for an electric range hasn't tripped, and that a gas range's shutoff valve is fully open.
  • 2 Pull off burner caps and grates, then look for food crust or corrosion blocking the igniter tip.
  • 3 Check that the oven racks and any bakeware aren't blocking the door from sealing tight.
  • 4 Write down the exact error code and the model number from the tag on the door frame or drawer.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what it's doing

Describe the noise, the leak, the error code on the panel. Brand and rough age help too. We use that to bring likely parts on the first trip instead of guessing in your kitchen.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a window that works

Many of our neighbors leave before sunrise and get home after six. We schedule around trains and traffic, including later slots, so nobody burns a vacation day waiting on a repair van.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

Our technician tests the machine, finds the failed part, and explains what's wrong in plain words. You approve the work before anything gets replaced. Most repairs finish during that same visit.

Stove & Range Repair — quick answers

My gas burner lights but the flame is yellow and lazy. Bad?

Usually it means the burner ports are clogged or the air shutter is off. Yellow flames soot up pans and waste gas. It can also point to a venting problem, so have it looked at rather than ignored.us reaches us.

Can you fix the oven if only the broiler is dead?

Often yes. A separate broil element or upper igniter is a common single-point failure, and the bake side keeps working. We test both circuits and the relay on the control board before replacing anything.

Is a self-clean cycle what killed my oven?

It can contribute. High heat stresses door latches, thermal fuses, and control boards. If the oven died right after cleaning, tell us that detail — it narrows the search considerably and speeds up the diagnosis.

Do you work on slide-in and dual-fuel ranges?

Yes. Gas top with electric oven, all-electric, all-gas, freestanding or slide-in. We service all major brands independently. Have the model number ready so we bring likely parts on the first trip.

Why does my glass cooktop cycle on and off?

That's normal for radiant elements at medium settings — the element pulses to hold temperature. If it cycles on high, or never reaches heat, the infinite switch or element is likely wearing out.

Can I use the stove while waiting for the visit?

If you smell gas, no — shut it off and ventilate. Otherwise, avoid the failing burner or oven but the rest is usually fine. Ask us when you call and we'll advise for your situation.

Why homeowners call us

  • Salt air is factored inCoastal humidity eats at terminals, brackets, and control boards. We look for corrosion behind the panel, not just the obvious broken part. Cleaning and protecting connections helps the repair hold up through another damp winter.
  • Hard water knowledgeScale clogs dishwasher spray arms, coats heating elements, and stiffens water valves. When your dishes come out gritty or the washer fills slowly, mineral buildup is often the culprit. We check for it every time.
  • Wide service areaHomeowners across six Northeastern states reach us for laundry, kitchen, and cooling repairs. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, and cooktops. One number to call whichever appliance quit on you.
  • Straight talk on old unitsSometimes a repair makes clear sense. Sometimes the machine is worn past the point of value, and we say so. You get an honest read on the condition before deciding to fix or replace.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
