How cold should my refrigerator actually be?
Aim for about 37 degrees in the fresh food section and zero in the freezer. Put a thermometer in a glass of water on the middle shelf overnight. If readings drift more than a few degrees, something in the cooling or control system needs a look.
Why does frost keep building up in my freezer?
Frost usually means the defrost cycle isn't running. The heater, thermostat, or timer may have failed. A torn door gasket can also let humid air in. We test the defrost components directly rather than guessing from the frost pattern alone.
Is it worth repairing a fridge that's ten years old?
Often yes, depending on what failed. Fans, thermostats, defrost heaters, and gaskets are routine repairs on older units. A failed sealed compressor system is a different conversation. We tell you which category yours falls into before you decide.
Can you come after I get home from work?

Does hard water really hurt an ice maker?
It does. Mineral scale coats the inlet valve and narrows the fill tube, so cubes come out small, hollow, or cloudy. Sometimes cleaning and a valve replacement fix it. A whole-house or inline filter slows the buildup down afterward.
My fridge is leaking water on the kitchen floor — what now?
Unplug it and mop up so nobody slips. The usual causes are a frozen defrost drain, a cracked water line, or a loose supply fitting behind the unit. Leave it off and call us so the water damage stops spreading.
